準備租約
卑詩省每份租約都必須是書面的，並包含《住宅租賃法》規定的標準條款。請使用官方表格（RTB-1），或加入候補名單，搶先體驗引導式線上版本。
入住日前

購買房東保險
一般住宅保險通常不涵蓋出租物業。房東（出租物業）保險能保障建築本體、第三方責任及租金損失——同時請要求租客提供其自行投保的租客保險證明。

確認大樓入住規定
若單位位於共管物業（strata）：請預訂電梯、索取入住表格、確認入住費用，並了解保險及鑰匙/門禁卡規定——在搬遷前一週將所有資訊轉達給租客。

測試煙霧警報器並進行安全檢查
入住日前：測試煙霧及一氧化碳警報器，檢查門鎖與窗戶插銷，並修繕鬆動的扶手欄杆。五分鐘的檢查記錄在檢查報告中，能有效避免日後的法律責任。
入住當天及之後

完成入住檢查
與租客一起檢查房屋，並用官方檢查報告（RTB-27）記錄屋況。若省略此步驟，您可能失去從押金索賠的權利。

妥善保存已簽署文件
在 21 天內把已簽署的租約副本交給租客，並在整個租期內保留您自己的租約與檢查報告副本。
